October is National Breast Cancer Awareness Month and there are lots of ways to participate and show your support for the cause!
You can:
- Turn your blog Pink for October
- Visit the Breast Cancer Site daily and click to give free mammograms to low-income women (it's free and you can do 365 days a year!)
- Send a free, personalized breast health wake-up call from Ellen Degeneres to your sister, your girlfriend, your mother, your cousin...
Another way to show your support is to check for the pink breast cancer ribbon when you're shopping this month. There's a staggering array of products out there, from pink Hershey's Kisses and 7-Eleven pink ribbon donuts to Aveda hand lotion and Estée Lauder cosmetics - all of them donating a portion of their proceeds towards breast cancer research.
One of our favorite laptop bag designers, Mobile Edge, has created The Caring Case Collection - a beautiful line of laptop bags and totes "designed for women, by women, for the benefit of women."
When you buy from this special collection of laptop bags or totes (not just in October but all year round), Mobile Edge donates 10% of the retail price to the Susan G. Komen Foundation. To date, Mobile Edge has donated more than $250,000!
So if you're in the market for a stylish laptop tote that makes a statement AND helps fund breast cancer research, be sure to check out Mobile Edge's Komen Collection at CareerBags.com.
Speaking of fund-raising for breast cancer research, I'd like to take a moment to thank everyone who donated to my daughter Veronica's Avon Walk for Breast Cancer last month.
With CareerBags.com matching each of your donations dollar for dollar, Veronica was able to raise $2775 for the fight against breast cancer, contributing to the over $5 million raised at this year's Avon Walk in L.A.
Thank you so much for your generous support of this cause!
